Code of Conduct
Dress Code
- All employees must wear painter’s whites; pants or shorts. Paint Store shirts or company shirts will be provided and replaced monthly up to 2 shirts a month. Torn or excessively worn clothes are not allowed, depending on severity, the employee may be asked to return to work after changing. No open-toed shoes are allowed for safety reasons.
Integrity
- Quality Painting Contractor’s, LLC, prides ourselves in going above and beyond for our clients. We always do the right thing even when no one is looking and expect all employees to mirror this attribute as well. No matter the size of the job, we will provide superior work the right way. We do not cut corners to save time for our convenience.
Drug Testing & Smoking
- There is no required drug testing for hire; however, Quality Painting Contractors reserves the right to random drug test on all job injuries or if there is an incident where the employee’s sobriety may be in question.
- Smoking is not allowed on the client’s property and should only be done on breaks. No cigarette butts or trash should be left on the client’s property.
Safety
- Employee safety is one of our top priorities and with the use of ladders, scaffolds, and other tools and machinery; sometimes it is more than a one man job. In these cases, we request that the employee ask for assistance before attempting to complete a task that may result in injury if done alone. Remember, we are a team!
- First aid kits are available in the company van onsite. When used, the employee should advise management so items can be replaced and an incident report filled out, if needed.
- When listening to music through headphones, one ear should remain free so communication with other team members will not be obstructed.
- Sunscreen is recommended but not required.
Language
- We expect all employees to communicate in a professional manner. No profanity will be permitted on the client’s property. This also includes music, as no explicit lyrics should be played unless through personal earphones.
Conflict of Interests & Outside Employment
- No employee is to seek out painting “side jobs” as this is seen as a conflict of interest, as any business opportunities discovered through the employee’s work here belong first to Quality Painting Contractor’s, LLC, except as otherwise agreed to by Quality Painting Contractor’s, LLC.
Company Equipment
- All equipment is provided by Quality Painting Contractor’s, LLC, except for personal brushes that the employee will be required to possess. Equipment should be cleaned and stored properly. If the employee is uncertain on how to use any equipment it is required that they ask for training before operating or using it. By using the equipment or tools, the employee is expressing their understanding of proper procedures in its use.
- Equipment that is misused or damaged due to negligence or carelessness will be replaced by the employee responsible for the damage. The cost of repair or replacement will be deducted from the employee’s next paycheck. If the cost of the damage exceeds the employee’s next paycheck, wages will be garnished until the cost has been met.
- Employee may use his or her own equipment at their own risk once Quality Painting Contractor’s, LLC inspects and approves it for use.

General Employment Information:
Payroll
- Paydays will be every Friday for the previous week’s work. The application for payroll is done through Square. An email will be required to setup up direct deposit.
Sick & Vacation Time
- Paid sick time is not provided until after the first year of employment. After the employee’s one year anniversary, 3 paid sick days will be provided. When the employee is unable to come to work due to sickness, we ask that he or she call as soon as possible. More than 2 consecutive sick days will require a doctor’s note. Excessive days missed will be cause for disciplinary action. This is a business that relies on each employee to get the contracted job complete on time.
- When needing time off for appointments or other situations that would cause the employee to miss work, we ask that as much notice as possible be given. Please schedule these appointments first or last part of the day so that only partial days need to be missed. If the entire day off is required, then we ask for at least 2 weeks’ notice. Paid vacation time is not given as of now, but we understand needing to take time off to be with family. Therefore, up to 5 consecutive business days can be taken off each year with 30 days’ notice, with approval, starting after the employee’s 1 year anniversary.
Holidays off
- Quality Painting Contractor’s, LLC will be closed for Thanksgiving Day, the following Friday and Christmas Day. We may close early or be closed entirely on Christmas Eve, New Years Eve and New Years Day; this is subject to change each year based on contract demand. Holiday time off is unpaid.
- After the employee’s one year anniversary the employee may have off his or her birthday with pay.
Absences
- We know that situations come up where missing work is necessary. We ask that the employee always give as much notice as possible. No show and no call will result in termination, unless extenuating circumstance can be proven. Excessive absences will be cause for disciplinary action. This is a business that relies on each employee to make sure that the contracted jobs are complete on time. Remember, we are a team!
I understand and agree that if offered employment it can be terminated with or without cause and with or without notice at any time at the option of either me or the company. I understand that no employee of the company has the authority to enter into any agreement for employment for any specified period of time or to make any agreement contrary to the above.
I have read this copy of the Quality Painting Contractors, LLC’s employee manual. I understand that this manual contains information regarding Quality Painting Contractors, LLC’s policies and procedures which will affect me as an employee if hired. I acknowledge that I have read and understood these policies.
I also understand that Quality Painting Contractors, LLC’s may revise, supplement or rescind policies or procedures described in the manual, with or without notice.
